PROGRAMMING
Our Work.
We use tools from theater, community organizing, popular education, and design to help communities move away from polarization, toward more inclusive democratic practices.

Perfect City Curriculum
An arts education residency for middle and high school students that supports young scholars and educators in imagining their communities as sites of creativity and thriving.

City Council Meeting
A participatory performance of government transcripts paired with a creative response to a local challenge. Presented in five US cities — and led participants to run for office.

Avoidance and Belonging Mapping
Our core program. We are all born cartographers — mapping work uplifts what we know about our communities and the best pathways to change. With young people, shelter residents, officials, and planners.

The Perfect City Network
In partnership with the National Civic League and Princeton University, Perfect City programs are taking hold in Anchorage, Dayton, Trenton and beyond. Let us know how we can work together.

The Catcalling Project
Created by and for women and femmes in cities. Mapping, neighborhood walks, ‘zines and other tools to look at street harassment, gender-based violence and gentrification.

Civic Artist Residency
As the Perfect City network expands, we invite artists and cultural organizers to share best strategies among communities of practice.
